Valossa™, a leader in artificial intelligence (AI)-based video identification technology, today announced that is has collaborated with Yle, the Finnish Broadcasting Company, to develop content intelligence tools for future media experiences. Collaboration in the Yle Beta incubation program has helped Valossa to advance its Valossa AI™ video intelligence service to enable deeper, richer metadata and content annotation for broadcast industry needs. Valossa AI is commercially available today as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) through Valossa AI Portal, which is now available at portal.valossa.com.
Valossa’s participation in the Yle Beta incubator program yielded content intelligence tools that have provided automated ways of analyzing and segmenting magazine style long-form TV content into separate stories for compartmentalized access. The Valossa technology enables the development of content visualizations, or Content Heatmaps, that provide detailed insights and overviews into video content at a level that greatly exceeds the capability of reasonable human effort to create it.
The Valossa AI suite will be demonstrated at the NAB 2017 show in Las Vegas, from April 24-27 in the Valossa booth #N2935SP-B in the Sprockit start-up demo area of the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Valossa first began work in the Finnish broadcast landscape in 2010 through early scene-level search of DVB standard broadcasts for the online TV search service. Valossa began collaboration in the Yle Media Accelerator program, which helps technology firms to set forth disruption for the advancement of digital media services, in 2015.
