Shah Rukh Khan bags the rights of the Spanish show ‘Money Heist’, to adapt it into a Bollywood film

It’s been seven months since Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero released and the superstar hasn’t any new films yet. From the past few months, there have been reports making the rounds that SRK is reading scripts penned by filmmakers namely Rajkumar Hirani, Madhur Bhandarkar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also Aditya Chopra. But none of them is confirmed yet. He was also supposed to play the lead role in Saare Jahan Se Achcha but he reportedly backed out of the project.

Now, as per reports in Mumbai Mirror, SRK is likely to produce a film in Bollywood. The tabloid stated that the superstar will be backing a movie based on the popular Spanish web show titled Money Heist. He has already bought the rights of the show as well. Talking about it, a source stated to the tabloid, “Shah Rukh Khan was introduced to Money Heist by one of his partners. He loves the show and believes it can be adapted in the Indian context as a feature film.”

The source further said, “There is no clarity on Shah Rukh Khan’s involvement as an actor. At this point of time, he is only producing it.”

They concluded by saying, “SRK has always been open to involving other actors in his production ventures.”

Earlier, when SRK was asked about signing a film, he had said, “I have no film with me right now. I am not working on any film. Usually, what happens is when your one film is coming to an end, you begin work on your next film and then you get involved with the new one within three-four months. But this time, I am just not feeling (like doing that). My heart doesn’t allow me to.”
